This is an adapted tag rugby festival for people with learning disabilities involving tag rugby clubs from across Ulster and one visiting club from Dublin. Games will be played in two age groups: Under 15 and Over 15. The first matches will start at 12pm, we expect to finish by around 4pm, following that there will be music and a BBQ for all the players and coaches. Refreshments will be available to all attending and the facilities in the clubhouse will be open throughout the day.
Nikki Gregg Chairperson of Newforge Taggers said “We are so looking forward to the festival it will be fantastic to have so many clubs at Newforge. It would not be possible without our sponsors Hafners and Wooden Spoon the Childrens charity of rugby. Hafners have been very supportive to the Taggers over the years and Wooden Spoon have supported many tag festivals across the UK and Ireland. Thank you for your support. We look forward to a day of rugby, fun and friendship”.
All are welcome to come along whether you’re already connected to a club or not. We are expecting 250 players for this festival, so volunteers are most welcome! If you are interested in trying tag rugby contact the Taggers at: newforgetaggers@yahoo.com
